George Chu, MD
Internal Medicine
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Dr. Chu received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1986. During his internship and residency, completed with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1989, he served patients at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and the Memphis VA Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. After serving for two years in a hospital-based practice, Dr. Chu co-founded Mid-South Internal Medicine in 1991.
Dr. Kimberly Freeman
Internal Medicine
Kimberly Freeman, MD, received her undergraduate degree in Religion from Princeton University in 1992 and her medical degree from University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1999. After taking time off from medicine to raise her two children, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where she saw patients at Baptist Hospital, Methodist University Hospital, Regional One Health, and the Memphis VA Medical Center. Dr. Freeman specializes in Internal Medicine, with an emphasis on wellness and preventive medicine.
Michael R. Pruett, MD

Dr. Pruett received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Mississippi and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine (1986). He completed his internship and residency, also with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, in 1989, serving patients at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and the Memphis VA Medical Center. Dr. Pruett is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. After serving for two years in a group practice, Dr. Pruett co-founded Mid-South Internal Medicine in 1991.
Louis G. Talbert, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. Talbert received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, in 1987. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. After working in a large multi-specialty practice for a number of years, he joined Mid-South Internal Medicine in 2001.
